Étude prospective de 29 cas Titre original : Intrinsic risk factors of patellar tendinopathy among volleyball players. Prospective study about 29 cases Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : S. DJABELKHIR, Auteur ; M. JULIA, Auteur Année de publication : 2014 Article en page(s) : p.81-93 Langues : Français (fre) Mots-clés : Facteurs de risque intrinsèques Prévention Tendinopathie patellaire Volley-ball Intrinsic risk factors Patellar tendinopathy Prevention Volleyball Résumé : Résumé
Contexte
Conclusion
Abstract
Background
Patellar tendinopathy is a common and disabling injury among athletes, especially in sports with jumps such as volleyball.
Objective
The aim of this study was to determine intrinsic risk factors of patellar tendinopathy among young volleyball players.
Methods
This prospective study was conducted from August 2012 to April 2013. It included a clinical examination, ultrasound, muscle isokinetic assessment and tests of jumps at the beginning of the season, and then only a clinical examination at the end of the season. Athletes who developed patellar tendinopathy were compared to healthy subjects.
Results
Patellar tendinopathy (PT) group athletes (6) were older (17.2±0.4years vs 16.2±0.9years, P=0.02) and had a stiffness of hamstrings higher (popliteal angle of 24±12° vs 14±9°, P=0.04) than healthy athletes (16). They had an eccentric quadriceps peak torque at slow speed (30°/s) lower than healthy athletes (2.7±0.2Nm/kg vs 3.2±0.5Nm/kg, P=0.05).
Conclusion
Age, stiffness of hamstrings and an eccentric strength deficit of quadriceps at slow speed (30°/s) would be intrinsic risk factors of PT among young volleyball players.Permalink : ./index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34507

Titre : One-Year Follow-Up Of Platelet-Rich Plasma Infiltration To Treat Chronic Proximal Patellar Tendinopathies Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Jean-François Kaux, Auteur ; Olivier Bruyère, Auteur ; Jean-Louis Croisier, Auteur Année de publication : 2015 Article en page(s) : p.251-256 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Platelet-rich plasma PRP jumper’s knee patellar tendinopathy sport apheresis Résumé : Infiltration of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) may be considered as a recent therapeutic option for chronic tendinopathies. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical status and the return to sports activities in patients with chronic proximal patellar tendinopathies. Twenty subjects with chronic proximal patellar tendinopathy benefited from 1 infiltration of PRP coupled with a standardized eccentric rehabilitation. The follow-up (up to 1 year) was assessed by means of a Visual Anologue Scale (VAS), the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) form and the Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment (VISA-P) score. Moreover, subjects had to answer an information questionnaire concerning their life and sports activities. Seventy percents of the patients reported a favourable evolution with decrease of pain, and returned to sports activities. With time, VAS dropped significantly and both IKDC and VISA-P scores improved also significantly. This study confirms that a local injection of PRP coupled with a program of eccentric rehabilitation for treating a chronic jumper’s knee, improves pain symptoms and the functionalities of the subjects’ knee up to 1 year after injection.
