[article]
Titre : Strengths-based approaches: What if even the ‘bad’ things are good things? Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Winnie Dunn Année de publication : 2017 Article en page(s) : p. 395-396 Langues : Anglais (eng) Résumé : When I started working as an occupational therapist, we discovered what was ‘wrong’ and then set a course to fix that area. Most approaches reflected concern over person factors such as motor development, cognition or psychosocial skills. The prominent underlying belief was that life challenges were due to the person’s lack of skills in a particular area (e.g. motor, cognition). For example, we would work on increases in attention, and thought this intervention approach would naturally affect the person’s ability to complete schoolwork, play sports or interact with the family during meals. Exclu du prêtThe development of a workbook to explore meaningful occupations after life-changing events / Jackie Taylor in The British Journal of Occupational Therapy, Vol.80 Issue 7 (July 2017)
[article]
Titre : The development of a workbook to explore meaningful occupations after life-changing events Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Jackie Taylor ; Vivienne Jones Année de publication : 2017 Article en page(s) : p. 440-447 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : professions participation outil thérapeutique identité perte d'identité:cancer Résumé : Following serious illness or other traumatic events, individuals can experience a disruption of identity. This is related to an altered ability to engage in the routines, interactions and occupations of everyday life. The meaningfulness of occupations and of life itself can be changed or diminished. Because engagement in occupations contributes to identity construction, a practical tool to systematically explore the unique meanings of particular occupations to an individual could be of value in helping to re-establish a positive way forward. The aim of this study was to develop such a therapeutic tool, based on a framework of ‘the occupied self’. Permalink : ./index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=52671
