Résumé :	When I started working as an occupational therapist, we discovered what was ‘wrong’ and then set a course to fix that area. Most approaches reflected concern over person factors such as motor development, cognition or psychosocial skills. The prominent underlying belief was that life challenges were due to the person’s lack of skills in a particular area (e.g. motor, cognition). For example, we would work on increases in attention, and thought this intervention approach would naturally affect the person’s ability to complete schoolwork, play sports or interact with the family during meals.
