A 39-year old pregnant woman (para 0, gravida 1) presented at her first antenatal visit. Her pregnancy was uneventful so far but she reported fatigue and having had difficulty to conceive. The patient's past medical history as well as her family history were unremarkable. On examination, vital signs were within normal limits. Uterine size was appropriate for gestational age. |

A 27-year-old patient at 10 weeks gestation visited her midwife for routine checkup. She complained of digestive problems consisting of constipation, heartburn and recurring nausea. She mentioned feeling squeamish when in presence of certain foods or smells, and unusual fatigue. On examination, her vital signs were within normal range; her weight gain was satisfactory. Swelling of the ankles and slightly varicose veins were noticed. |

A 27-year-old patient at 30 weeks gestation visited her midwife for routine checkup. She reported itching in the genital area and a 2-day history of pain and flu-like symptoms. She had a previous history of chlamydia at age 19 and no other history of STDs. Her pregnancy had been uneventful until then. On examination, a few blisters were visible in the genital area, and swollen lymph nodes in the groin were felt on palpation. |

Her family history revealed her mother had type 2 diabetes mellitus. On examination, vital signs were within normal limits. Uterine size was appropriate for gestational age. |
